About O-day’min Village
Civida acquired the Melcor YMCA Village apartment building in March, 2023. Through an extensive building renaming journey, the City Ward name, O-day’min, was selected, honouring the rich history of the Indigenous peoples who pre-date us, as well as connecting with the diversity and cooperative strength of the building’s tenants, and the surrounding neighborhood. The renaming ceremony was held on Friday, November 3, 2023. Through O-day’min Village, Civida has added 149 social and affordable homes to Edmonton.
