The Civida Foundation presents the Stars Awards to recognize the academic excellence and positive impact high school students and community members make in our communities.

    Recognizing academic achievement
  • Community Impact Award – $5,000
    Recognizing an individual’s commitment to the community
  • Creative Arts Award – $5,000
    Recognizing students for their creative accomplishments 
  • Sports Performance Award – $5,000
    Recognizing students for their athletic accomplishments
  • Leadership Award – $5,000
    Recognizing exceptional leadership

Students may apply for more than one award.

The Stars Awards are presented by the Civida Housing Foundation.

  • Who can apply?

    To be eligible, you must currently live in Civida community housing, or your family must receive rent benefit from Civida. 

    Grade 12 students and anyone who is entering post-secondary are welcome to apply for the awards. Please note this is a change from previous years where only high school students were eligible. 

  • When are applications due?

    Applications are submitted online, and are due by Friday July 12, 2024 at midnight

  • How do I apply?

    Complete the online application form. Note that you can save your in-progress application and come back to complete it later, but all documents must be uploaded by the application due date.

Congratulations to the 2023 Stars Awards recipients! The 2023 Stars Award recipients completed Grades 10, 11 or 12 during the 2022-23 school year. We granted 65 awards to 43 Edmonton high school students, for a total of $27,800!

Post-secondary Scholarship

This year we gave away two scholarships to students to the post-secondary institution of their choice that had the highest grades among our Grade 12 recipients!
